If you are anyone like me who feels like writing a complete website code from the scratch is a child’s play than doing her own makeup – then I am sure you will not judge me or have any sort of opinion when I say “I am finally learning how to do my own makeup”.
I am a complete newbie at this makeup thingy. I know there are ladies who can use the brush stroke-like Picaso running a brush on canvas. But I just learned how to hold the makeup brush facing my own face for the first time last Saturday.
You must remember in October 2019 I shared a skincare post where I started using Murad products after seeing the environment side-effects on my skin. After routinely using Murad Cleanser, Face Serum and Moisturiser twice a day for last almost 4 months I am finally seeing the good results. So the next step in skin-care and self-care routine was – Learning Makeup.
So as a newcomer, I was looking at the products from which I can start and what will not make me look like a clown. A nice lady at “Shopper’s Drug Mart” nearby showed me the path – “Nude by Natures Complexion Essentials Starter Kit“. The Complexion Essentials Starter Kit has 5 basic elements of every day make-up routine. As per their website,
The Complexion Essentials Starter Kit is an exclusive selection of Nude by Nature’s cruelty-free make-up products featuring the award-winning Radiant Loose Powder Foundation, and other best selling complexion essentials to create multiple make-up looks. The $50.00 kit has Perfecting Primer – The primer is composed of active natural ingredients, including the native Australian Kakadu Plum, known for its abundant Vitamin C content, rich antioxidants, Vitamins A and E, and Green Tea.
Perfecting Concealer – The Perfecting Concealer instantly covers dark circles, disguises puffiness, hyper-pigmentation and blemishes. Enriched with Australian native Kakadu Plum, Vitamin E, Jojoba and Shea Butter, the formula works to provide skin coverage while helping improve skin radiance.
Radiant Loose Powder Foundation -The powder is composed of active natural ingredients including the native Australian Kakadu Plum, known for its abundant Vitamin C content; Jojoba Esters to nourish the skin and Kaolin Clay for a radiant flawless complexion.
Natural Glow Loose Bronzer – The highly pigmented, oil-free Natural Glow Loose Bronzer adapts naturally to skin tones, providing the perfect glow without the damaging effects of the sun. Composed of light-reflecting microparticles, this feather-light formula blends easily into the skin, allowing for a customised tan with an iridescent finish. The bronzer is composed of active natural ingredients including the native Australian Kakadu Plum, known for its abundant Vitamin C content; Jojoba Esters to nourish the skin and Kaolin Clay for a radiant flawless complexion.
Translucent Loose Finishing Powder – The velvety Translucent Loose Finishing Powder sets evenly over the skin, naturally extending make-up wear. Its unique feather-light formula helps control oil and shine while disguising fine lines and wrinkles with its light-reflecting microparticles. The powder is composed of active natural ingredients including the native Australian Kakadu Plum, known for its abundant Vitamin C content; and Kaolin Clay for a radiant flawless complexion.
The Kit also comes with a Flawless Travel Brush and Make-Up Case. To me it was a heavenly gift. It has 5 skin tones and mine matches with its N3 Almond. And most importantly it came with a how-to-use tutorial at the back of the box. The kit is simple to use and so far I have not seen any side effect on my skin. Nude by Nature is one of Australia’s most popular skin-care brands.
The primer is perfect for a combinational skin and does not cause any stickiness. Concealer is doing its magic work without making skin looking dubious. It is really easy to blend on the skin. Powder foundation is not heavy does not make my face looks like a paint job. I am not a bronzer person so not using it currently but loose powder gives the finishing touch pretty good.
The only issue I have with this starter kit was the lack of small brush. The Regular brush that it has good for foundation but the bronzer and loose powder comes in a pretty small container given the size of the kit so it’s difficult to use the brush for loose powder. But overall I will give this kit 99 marks out of 100. If you are in Canada then you can get this kit at any Shopper’s Drug Mart near you. Would like to purchase online then here is the link.
Have you used this kit? or are you planning to use it then do let me know of your thoughts. Any recommendation for a newcomer – would love to hear from you. Will share my eye-make-up routine soon. Yes, I am going all out with this new routine. See you soon!!
